Ox-eye days

Even the most routine of walks can be surprising

Today’s morning walk with Bruce was round one of our usual routes. It’s a path round some fields near our home, and Bruce loves it, because there’s plenty to sniff at and friendly dogs to meet.

We walk there quite often, so I’m used to all the familiar views. This means I tend to switch off sometimes and get lost deep in thought. But today my attention was caught by a field full of ox-eye daisies. It’s a stunning view with a dramatic background.

I couldn’t resist stopping to take some photos, while Bruce snapped at the flies that buzzed round his head. I hope you like the pictures.

Beautiful! Perhaps only beaten by a field full of poppies, of which there are some spectacular ones at the moment?

Cheers Steve, I agree poppies look stunning en masse. Surprisingly few round us at the moment, although we do have some in the garden.
