Picture of the Week 19/08/19
I went out walking with Bruce the dog at the weekend, and we ended up at Dalby Forest, a large Forestry Commission site on the way to Whitby. There are plenty of trails round the forest, and we chose a quiet one that took us along a track through the woods. Along the route we came across a large thistle bush, covered in bees and butterflies, so we stopped to take a few photographs. I was concentrating so much on the butterfly that I didn’t notice the bee underneath until I looked at the photographs later.
I suppose it’s a case of rural overcrowding. The poor insects are forced to share flowers in a mad scramble for pollen and nectar.
Love this, I always end up with at least one bee photo every year. You should definitely submit this to country file , this years theme is beauty and the beast I think .
Thanks Jan, I’ll check it out.
