Newburgh Priory

Liz and I had a midweek trip out to the pretty village of Coxwold to visit Newburgh Priory. Despite its name the priory is actually a Tudor house, built on the site of an earlier religious building and has belonged to the same family, the Wombewell’s, since 1545.

Unfortunately we were on allowed to take photographs in the house, but the water gardens in the grounds were beautiful.

  1. Yes, you’d enjoy it. The tour’s only about an hour, but it’s an interesting story.

High bet you had a lovely day. Looked it up on Google to find out more.
