Census 2021: due tomorow

Sunday evening, March 21st, is the date when all UK households should complete their census online. This once every ten year event is important for the genealogists and family historians of the future. They won’t be able get access to the data until 2121, but your great, great, great grandchildren will thank you for completing it.

In past years each household has had to complete a paper form which is collected and collated by a small army of temporary enumerators. This year the census is online by default. All households should have received instructions by post.

Without census information it would be much harder for family historians to trace their ancestors: the census has solved many puzzles for me. The good news is that it won’t be long before the 1921 census information is available to search.

I can’t wait.
