Merry Christmas Everyone

Well, that’s 2018 nearly over, and this will be my last post until Friday 4th January. I’m not a great winter photographer, so I can’t offer you any stunning scenes for this article. The picture you’ll see below was taken from our garden on a snowy day in February. I’ve been playing around with the original in Photoshop, which explains the ‘oil painting’ effect I’ve added. Any technical horrors are entirely my own!

Winter It's bright sunlight as I'm writing this article and, not being a fan of winter photography, the best I can do is this picture from last year. I've been playing around in Photoshop, so any technical defects are entirely my fault!

It’s been an interesting year, and I think I’ve got a much clearer idea of where I’m heading with this blog, and with my wider project. So expect a lot more family history articles next year and lots of old photographs, mixed with pictures of the things I see that interest me. I hope you’ve enjoyed this year’s offering.

But for now it’s off to celebrate. It’s going to be a quiet one this year, as most of the family are off doing their own thing, but we’ll be having lots of nice food, boozy drinks, and prezzies. I’ve already started my annual pre-Christmas ritual of reading Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol: I’ll be finishing it off tonight with the help of a glass of port, a slice of fruit cake and apiece of stilton cheese. Perfect!

What ever you’re doing this year, have a great time and don’t forget to look out for the next post on 4th January.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
